The Second Line is produced by a non-profit organization. Our long-term goal is to develop partnerships with other non-profits, public agencies and neighborhood groups in order to give a percentage of the film's proceeds to support mental health in New Orleans. Many people are suffering from post-traumatic disorder and need services. Since the story is set in and filmed in New Orleans, the need is especially strong to partner with and promote locally-based and run organizations.

Of course, our short term goal is to gather resources to begin production. This includes money donations, equipment use, and in-kind contributions. We plan to film in May of 2010 and have the film finished by the fall. Please contact the Director and/or the Producer for our wish list of production needs at secondlinethemovie@gmail.com.

New Orleans, long out of the public eye in its post-Katrina recovery, will be featured in a dynamic and accessible way, no longer as an object of negative concern, but as a place of positive action.
