Nabila Lester is a writer/director/performer born in Harlem, NY. She attended UC Berkeley for documentary filmmaking, literature, and cultural studies. Nabila has been an artist in residence in countries around the world. She studied Film Production at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts on a Courtney Ross Scholarship, achieving acclaim for her film efforts, including the award-winning "Independence Day." She has produced and/or directed over 20 short films, which have premiered at Slamdance and the Santa Barbara Film Festival, and produced works for F/X Channel, New Line Cinema, Columbia Pictures and Lions Gate Entertainment. Nabila's most recent
project is Puppets in Play, a multi-media
puppet theater piece.
