Sharon Baptiste

Sharon Baptiste is struggling as a grieving mother. She spent most of her childhood touring the South's Chitlin' Circuit until her mother settled in New Orleans. Sharon began singing at jazz clubs at age 14, crooning long ballads by New Orleans blues greats. She gave up her gig when she became pregnant with Joseph. Although she was in love with her husband and new baby, a large part
of her missed the audience. She no
longer sings for the stage, but taught
her children to love music. Since
Sevrine's death, Sharon can't
shake her deep depression.
